Merry

CHRISTMAS! Hope everybody had wonderful holiday! I always think Christmas is slightly bittersweet. I mean your with your family and get a bunch of awesome presents, but it also marks the end of all that preparation for the holiday. Maybe I just need to learn how to live and love the present....

I've been hit with an array of blog ideas recently and I want to spread them out over seperate posts rather than pour them all into your lap at once, but I'm really having a tough time figuring out what I should rant about - maybe I'll just pick an idea out of a hat.

Imagine this. You're sleeping in your hotel room. You wake up to the shrill telephone ringing. You pick it up, still half asleep. It's the manager of the hotel.
"Maam/Sir, I need you to pay attention to me. There's been a gas leak and you need to put some wet towels beneath your door."
You do what the hotel manager says, still confused about whether you're dreaming or not.
"You need to unplug all electronics and break open a window," the manager orders.
You think twice about this. Break open a window? But then a fire marshal joins in on your call and confirms that you must break a window.
You're getting scared now. A gas leak? Will you be safe? Should you just run outside?
But then you hear a chuckle on the line.
And. Then. You. Know.
You've just been pranked by the biggest douchebag in North America. Tariq Malik, the founder of pranknet.
Worse yet, pranked by a man who still lives with his mom.

I don't know whether to complain about how stupid these people are or about how absolutely insane they are! Bitches are trippin'! Disgusting too! You see, this whole organization, "Pranknet", spends their days on Skype terrorizing poor hotel guests and fast food employees into humiliating themselves. See that ugly ass bitch to the right? That's him! Tariq Malik is the man behind this madness! This dumbass thought his Skype was untraceable! HAHAAA! THE SMOKING GUN EXPOSED THIS MOTHAFUCKER AND SENT SOME REPORTERS TO HIS (MAMA'S) HOUSE! He then hid in the back with his mother and guess what he did? Called the police! This bitch is helllla dumb! It's unfortunate that the hotels and fast food restaurants aren't aggresively going after this guy and his little team of hoodlums!

But Malik is no one-man-team! Oh nonono! This little group is filled with hella bitches and hoes! To the left is James Tyler Markle, an avid Twilight fan that hangs out at the local gay bar in his small Texas town, yet uses an array of offensive homophobic slurs while pranking his victims! Not only that! The monster molested a 5 year old girl! OH HELL TO THE NO! That is just horrible! Uh-uhh! Doin' too much! This creep also 'pranked' a hotel worker to drink the urine of another guest. Yes, the hotel worker must have been a bit on the slow side to not know what urine smells like, but WHO THE FUCK THINKS OF DOING THAT TO OTHER PEOPLE!? Bitch is trippin'!

The last crazy ass bitch I'mma rant about it Shawn Powell, another nasty pedophile! He was put in jail for taking pictures of a younger naked relative. The nasty...Powell pranked his own mother, posing as a police detective, Powell tricked his mother into thinking that her name was found in the pocket of a murder victim and sent her to the police department for further questioning. AHHH. Dumbass bitches.

So. I'm not sure if people think this is funny because the people that are getting pranked are pretty stupid themselves, or if they feel it's horrible. What do you think?

Here's The Smoking Gun's report.

WHAT THE HELL!?

Some of you may remember hearing this a few years back, but I'mma bring it up again to try and start some controversy! Who doesn't like some controversy?!

Basically - China is trying to be cutty and create an unofficial Disneyland! But nuh-uh you know they ain't protected by the copyright laws in the U.S. of A.! And Japan ain't gonna put up with that shit! They hopped on that faster than an obese person on a big mac!

The owner of the amusement park denies that he 'borrowed' any ideas from Disneyland or Sanrio. The park makes slight modifications to the mascots (such as curls the whiskers of Hello Kitty) to make it seem like they're being original. That is too funny! "That's not Mikey Mouse, that's a cat with big ears," says the president of the park in the video...as much as they'd like us to believe this nonsense...HELL TO DA MOTHAFUCKIN' NO :)

The damn park even has a sign on it saying, "Disney is too far. We will come here instead." The employee even admitted she was dressed up as one of the seven dwarfs (poor soul probably got her ass beat after her boss watched the news). They got a damn splash mountain. They got a damn CINDERELLA CASTLE! I've heard of some bootlegged DVDs in China but not no bootlegged amusement park! This is crazy!

Kinda like this 'I-pod'. =) And what the fuck is up with the guy hiding his identity? Is talking about knock-off i-pods like messing with the mafia? Oh shiet....I better hide.

Why do guys never have fashion blogs?

And why is it so hard to take a self portrait? These tribulations are what keep me from following my desire to take a single picture of myself everyday for an entire year. I'm sure that'd get the creative juices flowing (not too mention 'creative' outfits, hey!). I'mma get on it!

I'm happy that winter break is going to bring a taste of summer to my oh-so-hectic life. I think staying up late and then waking up terribly early should not be on the agenda of an ordinary high school kid! It's horrible. Winterball was last night. It was pretty fun; they played it all - Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Miley, and even some Ke$ha (yes y'all, that's how you spell it). Oh! I was Prince of the winterball! That was a + that I didn't expect. :)

Right now I'm watching Never Back Down through Netflix on my Xbox. It stars Sean Faris and is about how he messes up his handsome face by getting punched. Okay, so that's very vague, but I'll tell you more about the movie when I actually start watching it and not my computer screen. I smell a Netflix review!

Speaking of reviews! I should tell you about a book I read, Wake. It's about this girl that sees the dreams of other people. As cool as that sounds, whenever somebody falls asleep within a certain proximity of her she must succumb to her curse and witness their dreams. Good book - I'll talk about that later too.

I'm going to end this post with my winter break to-do list! Let's see;

Winter Break 2009-2010 To-Do List
-Take 20 Flickr-worthy photos. I really need to start building up a steady portfolio that doesn't feel so random.
-Photo day. I bought this really cool powdered make-up to have some fun with.
-Dare Night. OTH!
-Finish Online Driver's Ed. I MUST HAVE A CAR NEXT YEAR.
-Read a few books. 13 Reason's Why, Fade, Perks of Being a Wallflower.
-Shoot a short! This will be fun....
-Watch the first season of True Blood.
-ODC Contemporary dance classes (Beginner of course!)
-Get some HW done (AP Biology, APUSH, and English need the most work)
-Find somebody to vlog on Youtube with.
-L4D2

That's it. I'll see y'all later :)

LSTN UP!

Music.
Hi everybody! I haven't blogged in forever and I feel bad! A blog is something I should be more dedicated to, it's pretty much a diary of my thoughts in the present and will be great to look back on when I'm older. I'm going to post more.

To start this new post off I want to give you a gift, 25 free songs! Yes, this may be a tad late, but if you haven't, I hope you get to downloading those 25 free songs from the Urban Outfitter's LSTN #7 playlist. They have some really great songs - "Home", "I Start To Run", and "Free Energy" are my personal favorites. Make sure to download the other playlists (LSTN#1 - 6) as well if you haven't yet!

I also want to shed some light on a few bands I've been listening to recently - they're fairly popular already, but if you hadn't heard of them yet, get ready to fall in LOVE!

Phoenix

You get Vampire Weekend's New York City-indie feel and mix it with a touch of MGMT's amazing melodies, and the rocker-feel of Yeah Yeah Yeahs and you'll have Phoenix. They're pretty addicting to listen to, just gotta say, especially the tracks "1901", "Lisztomania", and "Fences". Check it!

Empire Of The Sun

Very MGMT-ish, but really unique in their own way. What's cool is that they're album flows like a story, each song is full of hip-poppin, shoulder-swinging beats on it's own, but when they're all tied together they make sense and become whole. Check out "Walking On a Dream", "Swordfish Hotkiss Night", and "We Are the People"

Passion Pit

The equilibrium between Phoenix and Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit is unique because their music can either be danced intensely to, or just something to relax to. They're funky, they're hip-hop, they're alternative, they're pop, you know, they're just a tad bit of everything. My favorites are "Sleepyhead", "The Reeling", and "Little Secrets".

Happy Listening!!!
-Nick :)

ouch.

Life.
Today I went rock climbing and learned two things:
1) I'm terrified of heights.
2) I can trust my friends with my life. (well, most of them...HESTER!)

It was really fun! But now I'm exhausted. I think I'll sleep.

WTF.

This story is actually incredibly sad. I feel for them :(

Maybe I should create a weekly WTF section. Like every Sunday :) Good idea?

Okay I gotta go -> Nicky B is out!

wtf.

Wait. Guys! This post is gonna be about actually WTF moments, and I'm not talking about "Where's the food"! I'm talking about some actual crazy shit that is going on in the world today! I'll try to make a list of 10, but I might get tired and have to stop, but I'LL TRY!

Before I start the list I should warn you that some of these things are kinda nasty/disturbing and you might get a lil' scared, but I promise they aren't that bad! I'll also add that getting onto this list is no easy feat! There is some criteria I had to implement here:

-A true WTF!? moment has to be something that most people don't know about, something that kinda surprises you and makes you think, 'WTF!?'.
+
-A WTF moment has to be something genuinely shocking, disturbing, funny, or random. Nothing boring!
See, I had a rubric, of sorts to guide me through this :) So without further ado, here is the crazyness!

Nick B's Top 10 WTF Moments

10. Juan Manuel Marquez drinks his own URINE

Okay, I know it's supposed to be 'sterile' and okay to drink...but ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!? I'm sorry but that is nasty! Drinking your urine everyday, as part of a workout routine, cannot be healthy for you! "I also drink my urine because that's where a lot of your proteins are...", says Juan Manuell Marquez, some boxer fighter man. NO! I don't think so! Isn't it the opposite? I mean, doesn't your body soak up all those vitamins and get rid of the junk - hence the point of peeing? I mean isn't that what the kidneys are for!? UGH! WTF!?

9. Truth Ministry Billboard

Are you Asian? Don't want to be? Well then, the Truth Ministry can help you! HAH. Please tell me this is a joke - please! It's crazy! I mean, I know they hate gay people, but Asians too?! Bitches! Can they even put that on a billboard!?! AHH!

8. Pole Dancing Dolls

Okay, so I can't say I was surprised when I saw Miley Cyrus get on that poll and dance during the Teen Choice Awards, I mean, it really was bound to happen. But now we have these pole-dancing-dolls!? Man, these make Bratz look like nothing! DAMN! Who the hell designs these kinds of things and why aren't they being questioned on the ten-o'clock news!? It just seems so odd to me! WTF!?

7. Boy Slaps His Momma!

The little bitch! How could he do that!? THE LIL' BITCH IS LUCKY THAT HIS MOMMA HASN'T SLAPPED HIM FOR SOUNDING LIKE A LIL' RAT! UGHH! That brat would drive me fuckin' crazy! How rude! I would send him off! WTF!?

6. The Choking Game

See, when I was young I would play purely fun, safe, innocent games like hide and seek, tag, big-booty, and..WHAT IS WRONG WITH CHILDREN THESE DAYS!? Choking each other to get high!? THAT IS SOME CRAZY-NESS!? I have never heard of this before and am shocked! See, the "choking game" is what little bored children play with each other sometimes. One puts their palms on the pulse-points in you neck and applies pressure until you pass out. This translates into some sort of "high" that kids feel. WTF!?

5. Tears of Blood in Teen

This is straightupWHACK! Tears of blood?! That is crazy!!! Kinda cool, but crazy! Man. Poor kid is probably going through a lot :( Worried about his life and such. But wow - I would hate if that happened to me! WTF!?

4. Michael Jackson Ghost on CNN

OH HELL! THAT IS SOME FREAKY SHIT! LIKE LEGIT ON CNN TOO! HELLA SCARY! I'm sorry, but this video just freaked me out a bunch. It's probably the music. Yes. Some people think it's fake. Some people think it's 'photoshopped' or a curtain that was moving. Lemme tell y'all - I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CURTAIN THAT MOVES LIKE THAT! WTF!?

3. Scientology.

I've never given much thought to Scientology, I just knew it had a negative social stigma, so when I found this youtube video I was freaking out! THAT HAS GOT TO BE STOPPED! I'm all about freedom of religion, but some bitches is bitches! Damn...they probably gonna track me down know...WTF!?!

2. Better Not Text and Drive!

This is some crazyness! It's kinda necessary to shock us stubborn teenagers into thinking a certain way. We always thing we're right, or that something like that can't happen to us, but it can. I think this video shows how it can. It is HELLA TRIPPIN' though. I'm just sayin', WTF?

1.Westboro Baptist Church

I HATE THESE BITCHES. WHAT THE FUCK!?

So that's my list of WTF. What's on yours, and what do you think about these?!

I wish time was for sale.

Don't you? Summer went by so fast. And here I am talking about summer when we are already half a month through school. Woah. I promised myself I was going to do so much - take lots of pictures, write my book, watch a whole bunch of shows, but in reality, summer only felt like a single long weekend to me. It wasn't short, but it didn't feel terribly long either.

Anyways, on to talking about stuff. I think my blog needs a more precise subject - not just everything that interests me. But maybe I'm wrong. I don't know...

Film.
Netflix Weekend Review.
It has been a while since I actually talked about a movie that I've received through Netflix - partly because I've been watching seasons of Friday Night Lights for the past three months, and partly because I've forgotten the rest of the movies that I rented. But here ye, here ye, last night after taking a nap from 8pm-3am I decided to pop my movie into the old Xbox and start it up.
The average American is recorded 200 times a day, says Look, a film shot entirely from a surveillance camera's point of view. Through the eyes of big brother, Look presents to you the stories of different people that are all intertwined in some way or another. The gay lawyer with a wife and two kids at home, the high school student who wants to do it with the teacher, the kidnapper who gets pranked at work, the two sociopaths who are on the run, the gas station clerk who wants a record deal, and the department store manager who sexually harasses his workers. Look is a dramatic, somewhat scary look into how much privacy we don't have and how much can go on when one thinks that nobody is looking.
The film is fairly dramatic, and although very interesting it ends without a fair conclusion - some questions were left unanswered. The actors aren't anything special, I imagine it would be hard to portray the amount of realism needed for a film like this, but none of them were exceedingly talented. I did however laugh at the gas station worker a bunch - he was funny.
A thrilling movie that keeps you watching, Look gets an 8/10 :) YAY!

So. Maybe I'll write here more often. About a particular subject. Maybe, just maybe.

I PLAN ON READING 13 REASONS WHY VERY SOON. :)

Saturday, July 11, 2009

Sorry guys...

Life.
I promised myself that I was going to write more on the blog once summer came, but look, it looks like I've been writing more during the school year! Hell, it's been more than a month :( I'm really not too happy about that. And I really want to start writing more! To make it up to myself (and the few actual readers of this blog) I will write a month's worth of text AND make a new banner! HAYY! Let's go!

Summer has been pretty chill. I just got back from Austin, Texas last night; I was visiting family and had a film class over there. I did a buncha stuff! Austin is a really cool city, it's not what you would imagine 'Texas' to be like. It's half hippie, half small town, and one big fun place! They had this cool juice bar there that served some crazy ass shit in the drinks - and I thought San Franciscans were supposed to be health nuts - but this juice bar, it had microplankton, ionic silver, bee pollen, 500 year-old salt, algae, and all kinds of 'add-ins' to put into your drink. I just found it to be really cool. Film class was chill. I was the director of our movie, and I'm not even going to lie, but our movie sucked. Man we sure are going to disappoint all of those Austin Film Festival goers because it is not workin'! Well...at least I was able to run home to California; it won't haunt me forever. Food in Texas was really good. Because we weren't in the small white-trash town this time around, we actually went to real restaurants, not just Chili's and Applebee's. I went to this really cool movie theater where they serve you dinner as you watch the film; so cool! The menu also had a selection that changed periodically depending on what movies were playing at the time - so you could've order Harry Potter's Butterbeer or Bruno's foot long polish sausage. :) It was a nice trip.

Television.
Friday. Night. Lights. Guys, this show is amazing! Seriously, I've been staying up till 5:30 in the morning to watch it! Why? Because it's real. I can relate to the characters as I begin to fall in love with all of them. The cinematography is just so beautiful, you feel like you are actually living in a small high school football obsessed Texas town! The lighting, acting, characters, story, and everything is perfect! (: Check it out.

): I'm really tired, so I'm going to head to bed guys. Goodnight!

Nicky B is sleepy & out!

120hours.

Life.
School is almost officially over! Can you believe it!? I'm almost halfway through high school! Oh snap! :] Wow. I'm going to need to post my summer list soon! After arena I will! YAY! But hey, I can't get too ahead of myself here, I'm not quite out of this long dark tunnel yet! Tomorrow I'm going to be fighting face to face against the monstrosity of a...a...MATH FINAL. And no, this is not just any math, but an Advanced Algebra created by Mr.Hunt final! Why? Why must all students have to prove themselves by taking a test of accumulated already-impossible chapters? Ah. FINALS. OHOHOH! I've got good news though - I went through all movies on the Yahoo! Summer Movies Guide and decided on which ones would be of interest to me (AKA I WANNA WATCH'EM!). I have a list of ten that I will write soon with trailers included! :]

Art.
So on Monday Sheryl, Fian, and I ventured out to the Lake Merced golf course to take some pictures for a portfolio Sheryl needed! Sheryl has some beautiful designs and Fian was a beautiful model too! Hah. What a good sport, going out in the cold like that only wearing dresses!
Man. I can't post all of the photos in a neat format :[ Well! They are on my flickr!
Here ya go: http://www.flickr.com/photos/amazingnickyb/

Life again.
OH! And I forgot to say. After I went to the dentist on Saturday I went to Target and right there I saw all boxed dvd sets of WEEDS for $15 each! Ah! I kinda rewarded myself for a year of hard work. :]

Groceries.

You know the deal. School takes forever to end. I can't blog forreal until it does. So I stop by here every once in a while and write a shitload of stuff. Yay! Today ladies and gentlemen, I will be writing about my impulse buys AND reviewing them! Hey! You know, those junk food items you just have to try no matter how weird they sound? That's what I'm talking about here. Let's see what's in my grocery bag...
1. Doritos Late Night: Tacos At Midnight
Okay. So Doritos seem strange to me. Know why? Because they all taste the same. The only flavors that seem to be stable are the Cool Ranch and Nacho Cheese. Remember those Spicy&Sweet, Guacamole, Spicy BBQ, or Pizza Quest flavors? They're all gone. So when these new "Late Night" edition Doritos came out I wasn't too excited. What really actually caught my eye was the commercial. Hah. Okay so this is officially the first commercial that has actually gotten me to buy something (actually Tiffany bought them...heh). The funny thing is, they aren't half bad! They taste like real tacos. You got your lettuce, your sour cream, your meat, your tomato, and your tortilla! I mean, I can taste them all together; others couldn't. But hey they're yummy! They make your breath stink, but they're yummy! Perfect for a midnight-movie-snack! I hate how the powder sticks to your fingers and makes them all nasty...ugh.

Doritos Late Night: Tacos At Midnight has a rating of 8 out 10 on the Nicky B Tasty Scale.

2. Haagen Dazs Five: Mint
Five ingredients is what makes this sweetness. You got some milk, some cream, some sugar, some eggs, and some mint. Thasit! I don't know why I wanted this, I guess it was just because it looked so simple. And it tastes simple too. Very creamy and sweet with a subtle taste of mint. I like that it's not green either, shows that they really do only use the essentials. More ice creams should be made like this, there isn't a need for that Red 40, or artificial sweetener. I like it.

Haagen Dazs Five: Mint has a rating of 9 out 10 on the Nicky B Tasty Scale.

3. Trader JoesChocolate With Whole Hazlenuts
It's chocolate. And hazlenuts. Together.
Trader Joes Chocolate With Whole Hazlenuts has a rating of 9 out 10 on the Nicky B Tasty Scale.

I think I'm too nice. Hahah.

DON'T FORGET TO WATCH THE GOODE FAMILY THIS WEDNESDAY. It's a must see for all King of The Hill fans! :]

SURPRISE!

Life.
So this week was kinda hell for me. I didn't go to school on Monday because I was too tired, but it stilled sucked. I just really need those summer months, it is then that I will truly be at peace. Still, there were a bunch of highlights spread throughout the stressfulness of school.

+Monday, while staying home, I downloaded this stalkerish-cool application for my i-pod. It's called Emergency Radio and what it does is pretty scary. Basically it gives you access to a whole bunch of Police, Fire, and EMS transmissions that you can listen into. You choose one channel out of the 182,981 that you want to listen to, then you can hear all the mayhem. Listing to it while doing my math homework, I heard about a fight, some music that was playing too loud, a guy that had a heart attack, two men harassing a young girl, a poodle in traffic, and even a guy with a paintball gun shooting random road signs. Unfortunately they don't have the San Francisco Police Department, but they have San Jose, Antioch, Orange County, and L.A. For only $.99 go check it out.

+Tuesday, I started twittering again yo. I stayed up till 2 listening to Loveline with Dr.Drew + Olivia Mund on Live 105, but hey it was all worth the laughs.
(Follow me!)

+Wednesday, I don't even remember what I did on Wednesday. Not a good day.

+Thursday was fucking hell! Hell! I hated it.

+Friday Was awesome. Hella chill. I'll explain more below.

Can I just ask, what the hell happened to swine flu? Wasn't that just how humanity was going to end last week? I mean has the threat to all human life been demolished? I just feel the media decided to spice the week up by scaring us all into thinking we were going to die. Now everything is back to normal. Hah.

So yesterday was Kristen's SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY! Haha. Priceless. 'A', Sydnie, and I took her out to a dinner she was kinda-sorta-somewhat dreading at the time, saying it would be, "The first chapter in many" of her sweet 16th. Little did lil'Kristen know that we had a surprise waiting for her at home. After eating a yummy meal at Lanna Thai we drove her to where the real party was at. HAH. Everybody was set-up downstairs and when Kristen opened the door all you could hear was, "SURPRISE!" intermingled with those party blowers. Mission accomplished! There was food, a pinata, "Role Models", limbo, and even a few lap dances. Hahs. It was perddy fun. Something I think we'll all look back on.

TV
WEEDS SEASON 3! My life will not be complete until I view the other discs. I watched episodes 1-5, but I need to send them back to Netflix to get the next set. It's so genius though, I can probably watch them again. Season 3 is definitely darker than the two previous seasons, although still a comedy, Nancy Botwin is continually being faced with challenge after challenge; except now she is not able to dig her way out of the ditch as easily. So. Fucking. Supreme. I'm going to add this to my birthday list + let's have a Weeds sleepover. :] Here's an amazing scene. Props to the director of photography.

Shoot. Embedding is disabled. Click here.

Music
Cobra Starship hired Blair from Gossip Girl to sing in one of their songs. Eh. Have I lost my favorite band? I don't know. I just don't really want them to pull a 'Nelly Furtado'. Ya hear?
Take a listen to I Make Good Girls Go Bad:

So. I'mma going to post my 'Summer List' soon. It's just going to be filled with a whole bunch of goals I have for the summer. Get my permit, get a job, film a movie, take 100 pictures that are Flickr-worthy, have my own film festival, brush up on Japanese, and listen to all 1200+ songs on my ipod are just a few of my wishes. What are you planning kids?

+We're starting a Youtube show that's going to make us famous and rich. Haha. First topic, The Dangers Of Craigslist - Hoes Beware. Haha. :]

Nicky B is rested + happy birthday! & out.

we could flood the streets.

Life
So. Our little heat streak has finally come to a stop in the city by the bay. It's somewhat bittersweet, right guys? I mean you have this beautiful weather, that doesn't require, but makes your house a sauna, and gives you a nice tan, that isn't the freaking cold as hell regular weather we have. I'm going to miss is, just a bit.

AH! I went to Junior Prom this Saturday! HEYY! That was fun. I can't wait for mine. I hope people show up + It's not in the cafeteria.

Friday is the talent show @ LHS. Everybody better go. And appreciate all that talent our school has to offer. Right?

Music
This is probably a bit late and a lot of you might've heard of MGMT already, but if you haven't you should definitely start right now! Their songs are crazy catchy and I wanna see them in concert. NOW! Hahahah. Ah.

Okay. This was kind of a sucky post. But I have a Hunt test tomorrow and hope you understand. That I have to study my ass off for about 3 hours right now to get a B. Bye!

Ottoman.

Hey! Man. It's been a while. Sorry about that. I've been working so much on all these various things that keep popping up in my life. Put that and procrastination together and you don't have anytime to blog. Sorry :]

Art
I'm taking portraits for photography. At first I thought the assignment would be cake. But really when you think about what makes a portrait they become so complex and crazy; it's difficult. But without further a due, I bring you, my work (YAY!):

BAM! There they are! :]

Oh! I really want to see Lakeview Terrace again! I don't really know why. I just remember having a good time seeing it. A genuine thriller roit theer. :D

Sorry. I don't really have anything else to write about right now. I'm going to go see Adventureland soon. And I promise I'll write about that. Promise.

I love Nick and Norah!

Film.
So! I finally added those moves that I've wanted to see, but kinda forgot about while in theaters on Netflix. Yay! Last night I watched Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. What has Nicky B got to say about it? Well here is is;

Nick is the sensitive rocker who has been pondering his break-up for about a month too long. Norah is the daughter of a famous record producer. Nick loves music. Norah loves music. So when these two souls coincidentally cross paths you know you're going to get a good love story out of it. Nick and Norah embark on a night-long journey of madness and laughs as they try searching for their favorite band Fluffy (whom are rumored to be at an undisclosed New York club) and also pursue on a search for Norah's lost, drunk, and crazy friend Caroline. This as adventure you don't wanna miss ya'll!

Okay. So this review might be a little bit biased. It's filled with the things I love. Indie music and a Juno-Superbad-Adventureland-esque storyline. They make me happy. Keep that in mind. This movie is for people who like to see what you'd hope your teenage life could one day be like. A coming-of-age film that gives you a bit of hope. You are pretty much sucked into the world of Nick and Norah from the very first scene; Mainly because us teenagers can relate to the stuff presented. Break-ups, the pressure to drink, our love of music, the first orgasm (yikes), being comfortable with our sexuality, finding love, and having fun. No, this isn't some public service announcement, but the movie has realism in it that makes it understandable and intriguing. You feel like you're there with Nick and Norah the whole time.

As for who should see this; anybody who wants to hear a good story. I was laughing out loud during this movie, even when it was 3 in the morning and I was laying in bed. I was smiling when the movie was over. I downloaded all the songs when I finished the movie. And most importantly, I was left wishing the playlist was really an infinitely long one. The only problem with the story was, It didn't end on the right note. I don't know. Maybe it was just me, but something about the ending made it seem cut short. Check it out; you'll love it.

Oh! And what is a playlist without music? Nothing. So listen up too, because the music is lalalalalamazing. That doesn't really work, but hey, it's kinda creative, right?

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist gets an 8 out of 10.

There ya go everybody! My Netflix-review of the week. Look for the next one soon!

Books
So I really want to start writing up my story right now. I'm really in the mood to actually! I think I will. Yes! I will. This inspiration doesn't come often; I need to grab it and run while I can. Hahaa. The suburban diaries are to begin soon. Yes.

So I'm almost done with New Moon. I don't know. Maybe it's just me. But Bella is complaining a little bit too much. I liked the Twilight movie alot better than the book New Moon. Don't get me wrong. I like the book. But damn, the girl needs to learn that there are more fish in the freaking sea. On every other page she's having a freaking panic attack and trying to breathe because she misses her lil'blood sucker. Hell naw bitch. I guess I should be nicer. I mean maybe that's what love does to you. Sorry Bella.

I'm going to start reading this book that looks pretty promising called Mortified. It's filled with entries from kids' diaries and letters and all that embarassing stuff like that. I read the first few pages and smiled. Again, relatability. It's the key to my heart.

Gaming.
I'm such a loser. Ahh. Please don't read this. Why am I writing this? Gahh. Okay I'm just going to say it. I bought Pokemon Platinum. Why did I do it? I have no freaking clue why I did it. I gave into temptation. The temptation of catching those little animals in strange balls and making them fight each other. Shoot. :[

Life.
Why does homework exist? It should not. I really want these four upcoming days to zoom by so I can just go crazy already. Ah. I hate work. Should I finish math tonight? Or tomorrow? Tonight sounds good. But I wanna write my book. But I keep thinking about work and that's distracting from my fun. Okay. Tonight it is. And I'll reward myself with an episode or two of Weeds. Yesss.

Okay. I'll write tomorrow.

are you trying to kill me?

Gaming.
Okay. Something you all should know; I play video games recreationally . I'm no nerd! Actually I am. But that's not the case here. The case here is that there is some whack-as-fuck video game on the market that is a little bit too crazy! You heard that right, too crazy for me! The name, of the game, is Silent Hill Homecoming and it is a little bit too twisted for me. Ahhh! Basically you play as some older brother looking for his lost younger brother...in some torture hospital where bodies fall from the ceilings and nurses try to shank you and people have no eyes. The shit is scary! No lie. Here are some pictures, but I'm warning ya'll now that this stuff is all kinds of whack, disturbing, and nasty!

WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?

Nasty-ness.

Okay. I'll admit it. I am scared to play this game! It's nasty! Here's a video:

AHHHH! Evil little boy!
I gottsa do stuff, but I'm sure I'll be writing tomorrow! Bye!

Much deserved, much said.

Yikes! I haven't written anything in a while. Shoot! That's not good. Not good at all. I've just been so freaking busy with school work it's really killing me. To make up for my lack of 'postage' I'll make this post hellla long and fill it with all sorts of random. Yay! Starting now I have decided my blog will revolve around eight major categories; Film, Television, Music, Fashion, Books, Art, Gaming and Life. Yay! Not all of them will be included in every post, but at least now I can categorize. YAY FOR ORGANIZATION(although eight is kinda alotta categories)!

Film.
It's time for me to see a horror movie in theaters! Five movies have already been released and I haven't seen a single one! Not good. What kind of scary-movie fanatic am I? A bad one! I really really want to see some of the movies, not necessarily horror movies alone, coming up soon in 2009; they really do look promising. No lie. Take a look:

The Top 5 Nicky B-approved Upcoming Movies

1. The Last House On The Left

In theaters: Currently
Okay. So this is going to be the first scary one of the year. Plus, it looks promising, it really does! The Last House On The Left is the story of the revenge parents seek on a group of strangers who take shelter in their house, these strangers of course have shot their daughter and left her for dead. "If bad people hurt someone you love, how far would you go to hurt them back?", asks the trailer. I don't know. I find the whole storyline intriguing and think that it should be a pretty interesting movie that is probably more realistic than Friday The 13th or The Unborn.

2. 500 Days of Summer
In theaters: July 17, 2009
It's not the story of how love is found. It's the story about how love is found, and lost. Something about the trailer immediately grabbed my attention and would not let it go. I'm interested. I want to see the story of Summer and Tom. It looks funny. Sweet. Genuine. Something you can relate to. All of which make it something for Nicky B to see.

3. Sunshine Cleaning
In theaters: Currently

Something that looks fresh and new. A comedy about two sisters(?) who begin a crime scene clean-up service to rake in some dough. The story follows the triumphs, the rough times, and the people they meet as they work to create a brighter future for the entire family. It looks heart-warming and fun, so it's a go.

4. Tokyo!

In theaters: 3/18, 3/20

Part of the Sundance + Asian American Film Festival this film is going to be a rarity so I hope I can try to grab some tickets and see it this Friday with some friends (Who wants to go?!) The film looks crazy, zany, and just fun! It offers a portrait of Japan's famous city brought to us by three equally crazy directors. "Shaking Tokyo follows the story if a man who leaves his apartment for the first time in 11 years after falling in love with the pizza delivery girl who's covered in mystical tattoos", says the SF Guardian. That sounds interesting enough to make me want to go, but wait, there is even more. The story of 'Merde' follows a hermit who pops out of the sewers to embark on a havoc-creating attack. Yikes! And lastly there is 'Interior Design' a depiction of a women who is tired of fighting life in the city and decides to become a chair. Yes, a chair. Sounds cool. Let's go. Call me.

5. Adventureland
In theaters: April 3rd, 200

Because I like those Juno and Superbad-esque movies. They make me smile. Just like this one should. I don't know why I like them so much. I just do. Plus Kirsten Stewart is in it and I like her so far because she fits well into that mold of actors that are kinda geeky and abnormal.

So there ya go! They aren't exactly movies to 'look forward to' because three of them are out right now. But they're movies I want to see and that's all that's important right!?!? Right!?

Television
What else is there to speak of you ask? Well. Let's speak of my favorite new TV show! Weeds! It's hilarious. Witty. Smart. Sarcastic. Something that is again similar to Juno and Superbad really! I don't know. But really, you should check it! Watch the first two seasons on Netflix Online for free! I've just started Season 2 and can't wait to finish it all. It's a show I genuinely like. What can I say?

I have realized I don't really 'watch' TV. I simply leave the TV on while I'm doing homework or cleaning my room or looking at Facebook. Not too good a habit with all that energy being wasted and all. Yikes.

Music
I've begun listening to more of a 'chillout' type of music. Rock bands and power-punk groups pushed aside, I've realized I'm beginning to like tunes that are mellow, yet powerful. Don't get me wrong, I'll still love dancing to Black Kids and Calvin Harris it's just that I've never realized how enjoyable chill music can be. Especially when you just want to be put in a chill mood.

CheckitOUT:
T
he Youth - MGMT
As Tall As Cliffs - Not Animal
Oxford Comma - Vampire Weekend

Dramamine - Modest Mouse

Lover I Don't Have To Love - Bright Eyes
New Slang - The Shins
Tire Swing - Kimya Dawson

Good songs for stressful days. Good songs for bus taking. Good songs for homework. Good songs for forgetting about life. Good songs for everybody. Yay!

Life
Wow. I have found something super cool on my friend's blog. Check out Derek's blog and find out about more cool events. This one was just calling me though, SF Zombie Swarm. How amazing is that? Ah! Pictures galore. That is what I will do if I find the time and somebody to go with. Take pictures galore!!! Crazy. Check their website for more info. + Imagine it. When will you ever see something remotely similar?

I need to keep writing my book. But It has been hella crazy lately. That's what summer is for. Reading, writing, hanging with friends, and all that stuff you do in the sun. So. I will finish it over summer! Yes. And if I have time on a weekend I will write it over the weekend! That's a plus. But no promises! Haha. Life has been hectic. Very hectic. My math class is killing me. And I have to memorize 42 Japanese Prefectures tonight. Yes, yes, lucky me.

Oh! I've decided to start my film-making career off! That means. I'm think I'll make a documentary about four kids at Lowell. Not this year. Probably next. I can see it now! Ahh. Greatness. I have to decide whose lives to follow still. I need interesting people, and stressed people, and people who wouldn't mind being followed by a camera for a month or so. Yessss. Plus I'm gonna have Kris make a LIVE SHOW on stickam with me. It's boutta be crackinnnn'! Ahh. I'm talking nonsense.

Okay. I don't really want to stay up until 3 am all week again so I'm going to start reviewing Catcher In The Rye and memorizing those prefectures...after my bagel.

I'll write again soon.

HOWSWEETisthis.

So today we went on a crazy adventure. Eva, Renn, Jocelyn, and I basically had this insane craving for CUPANOODLES. At the time. It really seemed like a good idea. But in reality. It was a suck-ass one. We ended up running around for about 45 minutes looking for hot water and a place willing to give us free forks. Eva got laughed at by a fat bitch in Noah's Bagels and has decided to start a protest. We finally found a Japanese place that was willing to give us free chopsticks. And we got free hot water compliments of Pete's. So was getting a hot Cup of Noodles at West Portal for .69 cents worth it? Yeah. I mean. We had some good bonding time yo'.

Here are some ADORABLE commercials by some chip company. They make me smile.

ARE THOSE NOT SWEET!? :]

So I'm back on Yahoo!Answers helping people. So far I've been pretty successful. I mean I've been hella helpful to people who don't know fashion. Shoot. I'm saving them. Well I gottsa go y'all. I have Hunt homework. Ew.

OH! And I'm really craving:
-FroYo
-Milk Tea
-Lavender Ice Cream
-Sushi
-Music
-Sleep
-Silent Hill (blog to come)
-Fun

Yay!

Hey! Sorry. I've been busy. Really busy. I don't have hella time. I think I might have ADD. My mind just jumps jumps jumps until it's 10 o'clock and time for me to focus. YiKES.

So here is a story, through photographs. A project for photography. Yay!. Keep in mind, I'm not done yet.

So there they are! The Doll Diaries is what I'll call them. Expect the full story to be done in about a week.

Ahh. I have homework to do. Sorry ya'll. :[

lots to say. little time.

it is the weekend! and a three day one at that!
I'm pretty happy to have three days of just chilling. School is just so exhausting, that on Friday I practically collapse on my bed once I get home. All those three-hours sleeping a night add up to tired Nicky B. :]]]

So yesterday after school, Fian, Renn, Eva, Claire, and I went down to Crepevine and spent a while there talking about teachers and people and whatnot. Just some good ol' bonding time yo'. After that crazy-ness Eva, Renn, and I started heading to the Randall Museum to go see some free Japanese movie that Renn had to see for Daffner's class. So are adventure began. We waited for the bus talking about how we'd probably be late and who Renn wouldn't mind driving her home. Hahaa. Then we get on this bus, and I knew they look sketchy when we got on, but get this these kids in the back kept lighting their lighters near Renn and Eva! I'm being an over-dramatic-bitch about it kinda but still, it had me laughing. We got off on Divisadaro and Haight (thank you for the directions EVA!) only to take the 24 towards 16th and Castro. Funny thing, last night we must have looked really lost because we were getting directions from everybody! Shooooot. On the street; on the bus; on the phone. The highlight of it was on the 24. Mann strange bus right there. We had a tranny behind us, some guy with naked people on his phone, and some old man that yelled out, "YOU NEED TO TAKE THE 37!" Goood times. Let's see. After walking up this big-as-hell hill we got to the museum. We checked in and went downstairs to this janky room with a projector set up. First we saw to short-films. A French animation, and some Irish drama. I don't really like French animation. Everything always seems so grotesque and putrid and it doesn't convey stuff appropriately. The Irish drama was a real...ehhh. I can't understand them! So the feature length was some Japanese mobster film. I though it was going to be interesting. But nahhh! Haha. So Eva and I just spent hella time dancing around the museum and looking at the inaccurate murals. Again, goood times. :]

Today I made a to-do list:
-Clean my room
-Read at least 2 chapters of New Moon
-Left4Dead
-Read 6+7 in Catcher
-Watch an episode of Weeds
I have cleaned my room. But nothing else. Unfortunately there isn't much time in a day. It's all good though. As long as I get to chill. It's all good.

So! I have decided it is time for my album reccomendation. This week, it's the Black Kids and their debut album, Partie Traumatic. It's full of happy, stop-everything-and-dance tunes. And that's a good thing! Here are my top 3:

1. I'm Making Eyes At You
Put 'Kids' by MGMT and 'Such Great Heights' by the Postal Service together and BAM! you gotta some of this. One of the mellow-er songs, I'm Making Eyes At You delivers it. It is great vocals, amazing beats, and high contrasts of voice and background. A sense of greatness and belonging included.

2. Listen to Your Body Tonight
Ahh! It makes you want to just really get up and dance. Another cool mix of an addicting beat and memorable vocals, that are great together, rather than being a contrast. The sound of a new age.

3. I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You
Who cares if you hear it all the time at American Eagle? It's some good-ness. A good mood starter. Weird combination of instruments that sound good together nonetheless! [hey! it's on my blog playlist in low-quality!] Some catchy-ness!

Well, I'll see y'all!
-Nicky B is out and WHAT-THE-FUCK!

what fun we had.

Note: Ignore the images randomly sprinkled throughout this post.

Have I got news for y'all! Have I got news for y'all! Let's see, where shall I start. I'M SO FREAKING HAPPY IT'S SATURDAY. I don't want Sunday to come. Monday especially. I really want my math quiz to disappear. Homework too, please. I feel like the weekend is the only time I can actually do shit I want to do. Monday through Friday I'm in work/freak-out mode going crazy about school-related shit. Yiikes. Not good.
How lovely.

So today I went to see Taken and Coraline with little-Monica and Alison at the Metreon. Here are the deets;
Taken is basically the story of Bryan, a father that moves back to Southern California in attempt to create a better relationship with his daughter, Kim, as he did not get to see her much while she was growing up due to his job as a government agent. Bryan wants to do anything possibly to make Kim happy, but his efforts are often overshot by Kim's new rich step-dad and biological mom (Bryan is divorced). So when Kim asks if her father can sign a consent sheet that will allow her to go to Paris with a friend, of course, after some convincing Bryan signs the paper. So off to Paris she goes with her friend. At the airport they meet some cute French guy in a taxi line, who asks, 'Taxis are damn expensive, want to share?' Now of course the teenage girls, oblivious to their coming fate, say yes to the guy. Bad move. Basically the girls lead the guy to their apartment, which 5 minutes later is raided by some crazies. The bitches is kidnapped. And turned into hoes! That is some crazy-ness. The skilled father, however, has the skills he needs to save the girls. But does he? So basically, this movie was hella tight! It has you on the edge of your seat, freal. The action is intense, and you feel sorry for the father, meaning, you want to watch him get is daughter back. There are a bit of 'that shit ain't possible' moments. But just forget those. Hey, it's a movie.

Coraline. In 3-D. HELLL NAW. That movie was scary. The mama was a hella crazy bitch. No need to explain this one. Watch the trailer and witness the freaky-ness. Because it is some weird ass shit! Especially the crazy-ass-button-eyed-mama. Nuh-uh. Not cool. Haha. Freakier than Friday the 13th is gonna be! Not really. But that movie was hurting my eyes. 3-D is too much for Nicky B.

After words we went to Bangkok for some yummy food. Good rice. No lie. UGH! Haha. Alison chose a really inappropriate time to start blotting the grease off of her face, blaming it on the weather and what not. DTM. DOING TO MUCH! Just kidding Ali-babaa. Just don't throw it in my food.

Fro-Yo at the CeFlore place was reaaallly good as well. One of my top 5 fro-yo places. I will list those later. I promise. Haha. I leave you with an array of random and funny pictures that I dare not post on Facebook.

-Nicky B is going to do homework then watch Weeds.

My yummy fro-yo.

Alison and her creation.

Yikes. [Not Nicky B's finest moment]

By far my favorite Above The Influence commercial + music.
