LSTN UP!

Music.
Hi everybody! I haven't blogged in forever and I feel bad! A blog is something I should be more dedicated to, it's pretty much a diary of my thoughts in the present and will be great to look back on when I'm older. I'm going to post more.

To start this new post off I want to give you a gift, 25 free songs! Yes, this may be a tad late, but if you haven't, I hope you get to downloading those 25 free songs from the Urban Outfitter's LSTN #7 playlist. They have some really great songs - "Home", "I Start To Run", and "Free Energy" are my personal favorites. Make sure to download the other playlists (LSTN#1 - 6) as well if you haven't yet!

I also want to shed some light on a few bands I've been listening to recently - they're fairly popular already, but if you hadn't heard of them yet, get ready to fall in LOVE!

Phoenix

You get Vampire Weekend's New York City-indie feel and mix it with a touch of MGMT's amazing melodies, and the rocker-feel of Yeah Yeah Yeahs and you'll have Phoenix. They're pretty addicting to listen to, just gotta say, especially the tracks "1901", "Lisztomania", and "Fences". Check it!

Empire Of The Sun

Very MGMT-ish, but really unique in their own way. What's cool is that they're album flows like a story, each song is full of hip-poppin, shoulder-swinging beats on it's own, but when they're all tied together they make sense and become whole. Check out "Walking On a Dream", "Swordfish Hotkiss Night", and "We Are the People"

Passion Pit

The equilibrium between Phoenix and Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit is unique because their music can either be danced intensely to, or just something to relax to. They're funky, they're hip-hop, they're alternative, they're pop, you know, they're just a tad bit of everything. My favorites are "Sleepyhead", "The Reeling", and "Little Secrets".

Happy Listening!!!
-Nick :)
