5. Swingtown
So what if it's been canceled? I enjoyed peeking into the lives of those crazy sexual poly-lovin'-curious couples from the 70's. So basically, this show puts you into the lives of a couple who is ready to being...erm...experimenting in the bedroom; with other people. You'll follow their highs, their lows, and their in betweens as they join the love revolution! The realistic script makes you laugh, gasp, and freak-out. 'Did people really do that?' you'll ask, 'Shit! Did my parents do that?' I found the show to be interesting because it is in-fact, about parents and their children (who have their own little love-story lines as well) This show hits the 'cool' button right on. I mean, it has everything that sells. Humor, drama, and sex. Put that in a time machine, go back thirty-years, and you'll have Swingtown, a mature That 70's Show.
4. Gossip Girl
Okay, so who doesn't know what this is about? For those of you who have been hiding from the world, Gossip Girl basically documents the scandalous lives of Manhattan's rich elite high school students. Be prepared to see plenty of brats, bitches, and creative forms of revenge. A guilty-pleasure of mine, Gossip Girl's little socialites always bring on pitchers of juice, not from concentrate. Drugs, sex, scandal, jealousy, and conformity. What's not to love?
3. Real World
This is the true story, of eight strangers, picked to live in a house, work together and have their lives taped, to find out what happens, when people stop being polite, and start getting real. Exactly. What says 'quality entertainment' more than an hour of reality television each week that features eight strangers going absolutely crazy. Most notably in this season, the cast members each have something unique about them. You have the transwoman, morman metrosexual, Iraq-veteran, personal trainer, gay guy, tattooed San Francisco chick, Miss American Teen 2005, and the panic-disorder-suffering-dancer. Put them in a house for a few months and you know that the drama will not be saved for no mamas.
2. Criminal Minds
Intriguing. Rather than focusing mainly on the crimes committed, Criminal Minds is a crime show which pays attention the the actual criminal. Twisted. Scary. Dark. A show that makes your mind wander through ideals that you don't want to venture into. To places so dark that they make you cringe. Through thoughts so shocking that you will be awes. An amazing show that's incredibly thought provoking. You almost try to solve the case before the criminal investigators; who are ALWAYS smarter than you.
1. The Boondocks
Laugh out loud funny. I find myself laughing to this show, even when I'm by myself, trying to fall asleep. The story of the Freeman family is so genuine and witty, it is by far the best animated show out today. I can't even explain how happy this show can make a person. Is it over the edge? Yes. Is it controversial? Yes. But let your 'politically-correctness' slide for a bit and try to laugh at what is funny. :] Suuperbb!
Well there they are; my top 5 television shows of all-time! What are yours?
