I love Nick and Norah!

Film.
So! I finally added those moves that I've wanted to see, but kinda forgot about while in theaters on Netflix. Yay! Last night I watched Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. What has Nicky B got to say about it? Well here is is;

Nick is the sensitive rocker who has been pondering his break-up for about a month too long. Norah is the daughter of a famous record producer. Nick loves music. Norah loves music. So when these two souls coincidentally cross paths you know you're going to get a good love story out of it. Nick and Norah embark on a night-long journey of madness and laughs as they try searching for their favorite band Fluffy (whom are rumored to be at an undisclosed New York club) and also pursue on a search for Norah's lost, drunk, and crazy friend Caroline. This as adventure you don't wanna miss ya'll!

Okay. So this review might be a little bit biased. It's filled with the things I love. Indie music and a Juno-Superbad-Adventureland-esque storyline. They make me happy. Keep that in mind. This movie is for people who like to see what you'd hope your teenage life could one day be like. A coming-of-age film that gives you a bit of hope. You are pretty much sucked into the world of Nick and Norah from the very first scene; Mainly because us teenagers can relate to the stuff presented. Break-ups, the pressure to drink, our love of music, the first orgasm (yikes), being comfortable with our sexuality, finding love, and having fun. No, this isn't some public service announcement, but the movie has realism in it that makes it understandable and intriguing. You feel like you're there with Nick and Norah the whole time.

As for who should see this; anybody who wants to hear a good story. I was laughing out loud during this movie, even when it was 3 in the morning and I was laying in bed. I was smiling when the movie was over. I downloaded all the songs when I finished the movie. And most importantly, I was left wishing the playlist was really an infinitely long one. The only problem with the story was, It didn't end on the right note. I don't know. Maybe it was just me, but something about the ending made it seem cut short. Check it out; you'll love it.

Oh! And what is a playlist without music? Nothing. So listen up too, because the music is lalalalalamazing. That doesn't really work, but hey, it's kinda creative, right?

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist gets an 8 out of 10.

There ya go everybody! My Netflix-review of the week. Look for the next one soon!

Books
So I really want to start writing up my story right now. I'm really in the mood to actually! I think I will. Yes! I will. This inspiration doesn't come often; I need to grab it and run while I can. Hahaa. The suburban diaries are to begin soon. Yes.

So I'm almost done with New Moon. I don't know. Maybe it's just me. But Bella is complaining a little bit too much. I liked the Twilight movie alot better than the book New Moon. Don't get me wrong. I like the book. But damn, the girl needs to learn that there are more fish in the freaking sea. On every other page she's having a freaking panic attack and trying to breathe because she misses her lil'blood sucker. Hell naw bitch. I guess I should be nicer. I mean maybe that's what love does to you. Sorry Bella.

I'm going to start reading this book that looks pretty promising called Mortified. It's filled with entries from kids' diaries and letters and all that embarassing stuff like that. I read the first few pages and smiled. Again, relatability. It's the key to my heart.

Gaming.
I'm such a loser. Ahh. Please don't read this. Why am I writing this? Gahh. Okay I'm just going to say it. I bought Pokemon Platinum. Why did I do it? I have no freaking clue why I did it. I gave into temptation. The temptation of catching those little animals in strange balls and making them fight each other. Shoot. :[

Life.
Why does homework exist? It should not. I really want these four upcoming days to zoom by so I can just go crazy already. Ah. I hate work. Should I finish math tonight? Or tomorrow? Tonight sounds good. But I wanna write my book. But I keep thinking about work and that's distracting from my fun. Okay. Tonight it is. And I'll reward myself with an episode or two of Weeds. Yesss.

Okay. I'll write tomorrow.

are you trying to kill me?

Gaming.
Okay. Something you all should know; I play video games recreationally . I'm no nerd! Actually I am. But that's not the case here. The case here is that there is some whack-as-fuck video game on the market that is a little bit too crazy! You heard that right, too crazy for me! The name, of the game, is Silent Hill Homecoming and it is a little bit too twisted for me. Ahhh! Basically you play as some older brother looking for his lost younger brother...in some torture hospital where bodies fall from the ceilings and nurses try to shank you and people have no eyes. The shit is scary! No lie. Here are some pictures, but I'm warning ya'll now that this stuff is all kinds of whack, disturbing, and nasty!

WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?

Nasty-ness.

Okay. I'll admit it. I am scared to play this game! It's nasty! Here's a video:

AHHHH! Evil little boy!
I gottsa do stuff, but I'm sure I'll be writing tomorrow! Bye!

Much deserved, much said.

Yikes! I haven't written anything in a while. Shoot! That's not good. Not good at all. I've just been so freaking busy with school work it's really killing me. To make up for my lack of 'postage' I'll make this post hellla long and fill it with all sorts of random. Yay! Starting now I have decided my blog will revolve around eight major categories; Film, Television, Music, Fashion, Books, Art, Gaming and Life. Yay! Not all of them will be included in every post, but at least now I can categorize. YAY FOR ORGANIZATION(although eight is kinda alotta categories)!

Film.
It's time for me to see a horror movie in theaters! Five movies have already been released and I haven't seen a single one! Not good. What kind of scary-movie fanatic am I? A bad one! I really really want to see some of the movies, not necessarily horror movies alone, coming up soon in 2009; they really do look promising. No lie. Take a look:

The Top 5 Nicky B-approved Upcoming Movies

1. The Last House On The Left

In theaters: Currently
Okay. So this is going to be the first scary one of the year. Plus, it looks promising, it really does! The Last House On The Left is the story of the revenge parents seek on a group of strangers who take shelter in their house, these strangers of course have shot their daughter and left her for dead. "If bad people hurt someone you love, how far would you go to hurt them back?", asks the trailer. I don't know. I find the whole storyline intriguing and think that it should be a pretty interesting movie that is probably more realistic than Friday The 13th or The Unborn.

2. 500 Days of Summer
In theaters: July 17, 2009
It's not the story of how love is found. It's the story about how love is found, and lost. Something about the trailer immediately grabbed my attention and would not let it go. I'm interested. I want to see the story of Summer and Tom. It looks funny. Sweet. Genuine. Something you can relate to. All of which make it something for Nicky B to see.

3. Sunshine Cleaning
In theaters: Currently

Something that looks fresh and new. A comedy about two sisters(?) who begin a crime scene clean-up service to rake in some dough. The story follows the triumphs, the rough times, and the people they meet as they work to create a brighter future for the entire family. It looks heart-warming and fun, so it's a go.

4. Tokyo!

In theaters: 3/18, 3/20

Part of the Sundance + Asian American Film Festival this film is going to be a rarity so I hope I can try to grab some tickets and see it this Friday with some friends (Who wants to go?!) The film looks crazy, zany, and just fun! It offers a portrait of Japan's famous city brought to us by three equally crazy directors. "Shaking Tokyo follows the story if a man who leaves his apartment for the first time in 11 years after falling in love with the pizza delivery girl who's covered in mystical tattoos", says the SF Guardian. That sounds interesting enough to make me want to go, but wait, there is even more. The story of 'Merde' follows a hermit who pops out of the sewers to embark on a havoc-creating attack. Yikes! And lastly there is 'Interior Design' a depiction of a women who is tired of fighting life in the city and decides to become a chair. Yes, a chair. Sounds cool. Let's go. Call me.

5. Adventureland
In theaters: April 3rd, 200

Because I like those Juno and Superbad-esque movies. They make me smile. Just like this one should. I don't know why I like them so much. I just do. Plus Kirsten Stewart is in it and I like her so far because she fits well into that mold of actors that are kinda geeky and abnormal.

So there ya go! They aren't exactly movies to 'look forward to' because three of them are out right now. But they're movies I want to see and that's all that's important right!?!? Right!?

Television
What else is there to speak of you ask? Well. Let's speak of my favorite new TV show! Weeds! It's hilarious. Witty. Smart. Sarcastic. Something that is again similar to Juno and Superbad really! I don't know. But really, you should check it! Watch the first two seasons on Netflix Online for free! I've just started Season 2 and can't wait to finish it all. It's a show I genuinely like. What can I say?

I have realized I don't really 'watch' TV. I simply leave the TV on while I'm doing homework or cleaning my room or looking at Facebook. Not too good a habit with all that energy being wasted and all. Yikes.

Music
I've begun listening to more of a 'chillout' type of music. Rock bands and power-punk groups pushed aside, I've realized I'm beginning to like tunes that are mellow, yet powerful. Don't get me wrong, I'll still love dancing to Black Kids and Calvin Harris it's just that I've never realized how enjoyable chill music can be. Especially when you just want to be put in a chill mood.

CheckitOUT:
T
he Youth - MGMT
As Tall As Cliffs - Not Animal
Oxford Comma - Vampire Weekend

Dramamine - Modest Mouse

Lover I Don't Have To Love - Bright Eyes
New Slang - The Shins
Tire Swing - Kimya Dawson

Good songs for stressful days. Good songs for bus taking. Good songs for homework. Good songs for forgetting about life. Good songs for everybody. Yay!

Life
Wow. I have found something super cool on my friend's blog. Check out Derek's blog and find out about more cool events. This one was just calling me though, SF Zombie Swarm. How amazing is that? Ah! Pictures galore. That is what I will do if I find the time and somebody to go with. Take pictures galore!!! Crazy. Check their website for more info. + Imagine it. When will you ever see something remotely similar?

I need to keep writing my book. But It has been hella crazy lately. That's what summer is for. Reading, writing, hanging with friends, and all that stuff you do in the sun. So. I will finish it over summer! Yes. And if I have time on a weekend I will write it over the weekend! That's a plus. But no promises! Haha. Life has been hectic. Very hectic. My math class is killing me. And I have to memorize 42 Japanese Prefectures tonight. Yes, yes, lucky me.

Oh! I've decided to start my film-making career off! That means. I'm think I'll make a documentary about four kids at Lowell. Not this year. Probably next. I can see it now! Ahh. Greatness. I have to decide whose lives to follow still. I need interesting people, and stressed people, and people who wouldn't mind being followed by a camera for a month or so. Yessss. Plus I'm gonna have Kris make a LIVE SHOW on stickam with me. It's boutta be crackinnnn'! Ahh. I'm talking nonsense.

Okay. I don't really want to stay up until 3 am all week again so I'm going to start reviewing Catcher In The Rye and memorizing those prefectures...after my bagel.

I'll write again soon.
